Opening a Love Letter

Sitting here...
Watching the boys roll on the ground, wrestlng now...tirelessly content in their play...having just finished a round of hide and seek.  Victory giggling, as she follows the bunny 'round the yard...hopping and imitating each movement with such precision, pretending to eat the popcorn pieces that Gracie (our French Lop) left behind.

Can't stop smiling...

Contemplating the observable beauty of all that God has done in this Sweet Land and the carefully hidden treasures all around, still unrevealed, just waiting to be discovered...like love letters concealed in an envelope, these treasures from the lover of my soul...

Are we tireless in our searching...or do the letters sit dusty on the shelf or hidden in a drawer or envelope? Are we experiencing  Victory, blissfully imitating Him and gobbling up the nourishment His grace has provided?

But ye [are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:~ 1Peter 2:9

The Wondrous Cross

Galatians 6:14

When I survey the wondrous cross
On which the Prince of glory died,
My richest gain I count but loss,
And pour contempt on all my pride.

Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast,
Save in the death of Christ my God!
All the vain things that charm me most,
I sacrifice them to His blood.

See from His head, His hands, His feet,
Sorrow and love flow mingled down!
Did e’er such love and sorrow meet,
Or thorns compose so rich a crown?

His dying crimson, like a robe,
Spreads o’er His body on the tree;
Then I am dead to all the globe,
And all the globe is dead to me.

Were the whole realm of nature mine,
That were a present far too small;
Love so amazing, so divine,
Demands my soul, my life, my all.
